Job Description:

Facility Maintenance Responsibilities A. Assist with general carpentry tasks such as door hardware installation, cabinet/countertop replacement, and minor structural repairs. B. Complete assigned Work Orders through the electronic system in a timely and professional manner. C. Conduct regularly scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment, facility systems, and tooling machines. D. Inspect facilities daily for needed repairs (e.g., stains, marks on walls, ceiling tile issues, damaged blinds). E. Maintain and track a basic inventory of maintenance tools, spare parts, and supplies. F. Perform routine building maintenance including minor plumbing, electrical, drywall repair, window replacement, and painting. G. Provide receipts, invoices, and supply documentation to the Maintenance Supervisor promptly. H. Support the Maintenance Supervisor in coordinating vendor work when outside repairs are needed. Custodial & Housekeeping Responsibilities A. Clean and maintain facility areas including floors, restrooms, windows, trash receptacles, kitchens, offices, and common spaces. B. Follow agency procedures and safety guidelines for chemical handling and equipment operation. C. Perform light facility upkeep including bulb replacement, supply restocking, light furniture movement, and material handling. D. Provide janitorial, housekeeping, and custodial services for multiple agency buildings per cleaning schedules. E. Report facility hazards such as leaks, broken blinds, or unsafe conditions to the Maintenance Supervisor immediately. F. Restock custodial supply areas and ensure appropriate cleaning materials are maintained throughout all buildings. G. Strip, wax, buff, and maintain tile floors using approved equipment; may require occasional third-shift or weekend work. Collaboration & General Expectations A. Job duties may be modified as organizational needs change. B. Maintain professional communication and work habits consistent with agency standards. C. Support emergency or special cleaning/maintenance needs when unusual circumstances arise. D. Work in partnership with Maintenance and Facilities teams to support consistent upkeep across all Freedom House properties.
