Job Description:
Description This position plays a vital role in the operations
of the Duke Family Performance Hall for departmental, student
organization and Davidson community events. This role reports
directly to the Associate Director for Operations of the College
Union, and works closely with the Technical Services & Union Ticket
Office departments. The Front of House (FOH) Manager directly
manages ingress and egress of the performance hall while upholding
the venue’s policies and prohibited items. This position regularly
works week nights, weekends and holidays as needed. Essential
Duties & Responsibilities: Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate
student Front of House Ushers Schedule and ensure FOH coverage at
all Duke Family Performance Hall events Clocking in and out of
shifts through Oracle Cloud Proficiency with Etix ticket scanning
hardware and software Competence in setting up assisted hearing
devices Retain and organize all FOH equipment following each event
Enforce Duke Family Performance Hall venue policies Collaborate
with the Technical Services department Meet pre-event to discuss
any logistical questions Communicate regularly with backstage
technicians during the event Master timing of curtain closing and
opening at beginning and end of events Assist the Associate
Director for Operations of the College Union Collect and review
Front of House event forms from groups hosting events in the Duke
Family Performance Hall Consult external clients directly for
special requests Complete post-event reports and share with the
Associate Director for Operations within (24) hours of the event
Regular check-ins for event notes and logistics Work autonomously
and confidently when no support staff are available Information
