Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and
minimum 1 years Special Education Teacher experience required.

considered. A part-time special education teaching opportunity is
available in Henderson, NC, focusing on elementary students with
autism in grades K-2. This contract role offers a rewarding way to
impact young learners with moderate to severe autism, working
alongside a supportive team that includes one teacher and two
teaching assistants. Key Responsibilities: - Deliver specialized
instruction and support for a caseload of 7-8 students diagnosed
with autism, primarily in grades 1 and 2. - Implement
individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to both verbal and
nonverbal students. - Collaborate with teaching assistants to
create an inclusive, nurturing environment that fosters student
growth. - Support daily routines, including promoting independence
skills such as toileting, with most students being potty trained. -
Participate in ongoing professional development and team meetings.
Qualifications: - Valid Early Childhood (EC) Birth to Kindergarten
teaching license. - Experience and confidence in educating students
with moderate to severe autism. - Ability to work collaboratively
within a multidisciplinary team. - Compassion, patience, and a
passion for supporting diverse learners. Position Details: -
Location: Henderson, NC. - Schedule: Part-time, Monday through
Friday, 46 hours per day. - Student Population: Elementary school
children with autism. - Contract duration: Non-school year (NSY).
