SUMMARY:

A Field Service Validation & Calibration Technician position at CLIENT is an extremely important one. -Not only is the person expected to be professional in dress, grooming and speech but also expected to demonstrate CLIENTS dedication to integrity, quality and innovation with providing unmatched service support, solving problems and communicating with CLIENTS Fortune 1000 level customers.

Accurate and legible documentation is critical to this role. -Field Service Validation & Calibration Technician's must be able to follow internal and customers SOP's when recording and reporting work performed which will be submitted to the customer upon completion of the service.

The primary responsibility of this position is to perform preventative maintenance on working laboratory instrumentation and performing on-site IQOQPQ validations. The Field Technician should be mechanically inclined as occasional field repairs or adjustments will be needed. -This position will also be responsible for setting up demo's and selling parts and accessories.

The vast majority of this work is located inside of a six/eight hour driving distance, but air travel will be required. -The Field Service Technician will plan and execute their own travel itinerary including; transit to airport, air travel, car rental, hotel, etc. -Company vehicles will be available for local travel.

In order to best perform their job duties, all Field Service Technicians are provided with a company credit card, expense reimbursement allowance, company cell phone and laptop. - -Field Service Technicians are expected to conduct themselves in a mature and responsible manner, plan and manage their own work schedule, minimizing travel expenses and costs while maximizing service productivity.

proactive with scheduling customer trips, answering customer phone calls

Accurate, legible, documentation is a critical aspect of this role. -Must be able to record and report work performed, which will be submitted to the customer, upon completion. -Failure to successfully complete service in accordance with internal SOP's, may result in a penalty to incentive plan.

WORK PERFORMED:

Technical Service Responsibilities:
Perform preventative maintenance on working laboratory instrumentation at client's site
Complete accurate and legible IQOQPQ documentation in accordance with internal and customers SOP's
Technical training for customers while on site
Complete training for preventative maintenance processes on all CLIENT instrumentation
Provide customer support through email or over the phone
Read and interpret detailed drawings and perform system interconnections from a schematic or wiring diagram
Basic trouble shooting of circuit boards, using VOM -Meters
Writing and creation of technical emails and documents

Administrative Service Responsibilities:
- - - - - - - - -Daily reporting of service call status's
- - - - - - - - -Monthly submission of expense reports and supporting receipts/information
- - - - - - - - -Weekly / monthly submission of onsite documentation from client visits
- - - - - - - - -Maintenance of shared calendar
- - - - - - - - -Weekly/monthly reporting of time
- - - - - - - - -Inventory management of personal service kits, stock and proper completion of inventory transfers
- - - - - - - - -Must ensure that tools and standards are within calibration

Sales Responsibilities:
Attend in-house training for "Sales Techniques for Service Technicians"
While onsite with customer, identify needs for parts and accessories and initiate the quotation with Customer Service
While onsite with customer, discuss and provide marketing technical bulletins to upsell customers to newer RRA instrumentation
Offer demonstrations of instrumentation for follow-up with sales team
Commissions applied when sale of new instrument to service customer is complete

General Duties:

REQUIREMENTS:

General:
- - - - - - - - -Must have valid driver's license
- - - - - - - - -Must -possess passport, as international traveling may be required
- - - - - - - - -Must attend ongoing trainings as required by CLIENT

Experience:
Experience in a Quality Control setting preferred but not required
Background in calibration, validation or QC of analytical instrumentation, test equipment or similar
Proven field service history is preferred, with a strong desire to travel throughout the Continental U.S
Able to understand schematics and wiring diagrams or has an electronics degree or background
Working with laboratory instrumentation
- - - - - - - - -Preference of 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar setting, but not required for the right candidate

Education :
- - - - - - - - -Associates degree or equivalent
- - - - - - - - -Electronics courses with work in Analog and Digital Circuits is a plus

Skills :
- - - - - - - - -Basic to intermediate computers skills
- - - - - - - - -Mechanically inclined and good with your hands
- - - - - - - - -Knowledge of MS Office preferred
- - - - - - - - -Good communication and interpersonal skills
- - - - - - - - -Attention to detail, self-starter, organized
- - - - - - - - -Experienced and comfortable traveler

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Regular interaction with customers, other employees, engineers, and departments
Required to work business hours and non-business hours during heavy demand periods
Significant domestic travel

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

When traveling prolonged driving/sitting may be required
Must be able to lift 40 to 50 pounds
