Our client, Microsoft Corporation a leader in data center construction and infrastructure engineering , is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team. As a Construction Manager 5 , you will be part of the Construction and Engineering Department , supporting the Mechanical Systems Team . The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and collaboration abilities that will align successfully with the organization’s high standards of performance and safety. Job Title: Construction Manager 5 Location: Boydton, VA (onsite) Pay Range: $76.10 – $83.70 per hour What’s the Job? Oversee the mechanical scope of a mission-critical data center construction project from design review through commissioning. Review mechanical design documents, submittals, and IFC drawings to ensure compliance with applicable codes and project standards. Conduct field walks and inspections to verify installations, sequence construction activities, and monitor safety compliance. Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve issues and maintain project timelines. Support system startup, testing, commissioning, and final turnover documentation for mechanical systems. What’s Needed? Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Proven experience in mechanical systems design and construction (data center experience preferred). Strong technical background in BAS systems, mechanical equipment, and construction processes. Proficiency with Bluebeam and understanding of mechanical QA/QC procedures. Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills for cross-functional coordination. What’s in it for me?
