Purpose, Scope of Responsibilities: The Manufacturing Engineer has
responsibilities to lead and support capital project
implementation; support maintenance and operations with
calculations, advice and expertise; and generally support the plant
processes of GMT production. Function: Support and/or lead capital
project design and implementation as directed. Generate ideas,
compute savings, research technologies, and complete project design
and approval. Develop start-up procedures, write manuals, and
provide data where necessary. Support production process with
calculations, charting, and program development to increase
capacity, lower cost, and improve quality. Recommend and implement
changes when necessary to process, lab, or measurement equipment.
Analyze daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly production data. Provide
reports and documentation as required. Support Quality Management
System as required. Lead processes as directed. Provide IT support
and expertise as needed. Recommend continuing education necessary
to become site expert and maintain expertise. Support plant
Accounts Payable entry and processing for items as directed. Assist
in the training and development of employees as directed. Provide
all required process and production reports. Assist in Lean
Initiatives and Training. Assist in developing work instructions,
procedures, hazard analysis and other written documentation for
quality, production process and maintenance.
Education/Background/Experience: 1. Position requires a Bachelors
degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, or
Chemical. 2. Experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred. 3.
Position requires strong verbal, written, analytical and
presentation skills. 4. Experience with Microsoft Office suite of
programs is required. Familiarity with PLC logic and programming is
a plus. 5. Individual must be a quick learner and a self-starter.
