Associate Director of Development - Philanthropy, Relationships, and GrowthA very good place to be---The Presbyterian Homes, Inc. is presently seeking an Associate Director of Development to work with the Director at our Management Service Office (MSO) in Colfax, N.C. This department, along with others at MSO, helps to support our three Continuing Care Retirement Communities: Glenaire in Cary, River Landing at Sandy Ridge in Colfax, Scotia Village in Laurinburg, and our two managed communities Friends Homes Guilford and Friends Homes West, in Greensboro.If you are a servant leader who enjoys being part of a team environment and possess initiative, sound judgment, and enthusiasm, we want you. The Associate Director of Development builds relationships through outreach and promotes philanthropy to carry out our mission: To honor God by enriching the lives and touching the hearts of those we serve.The Associate Director of Development is a key participant in achieving the philanthropic goals of The Presbyterian Homes, Inc. and Friends Homes, Inc.. Working with staff, boards, residents, and community partners, the Associate Director of Development will help to advance efforts with both annual and planned giving and will provide assistance with special campaigns and other projects and events as needed.We offer a competitive salary and excellent benefits package, PAL (paid annual leave), free wellness program with access to our on-campus fitness center, opportunities to learn and grow personally and professionally, and a wonderful working environment where you will be challenged and have fun!Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least three years of previous experience in a professional philanthropic role or significant volunteer experience in fundraising for a nonprofit which could include an annual giving program, building new donor relationships, stewardship, and planned giving
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel as well as donor database experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team builder in a courteous and professional manner
  • Ability to travel (daytime travel for the most part with fleet vehicle available)
  • People-focused with strong oral and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented and able to handle confidential information
  • Organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks/projects
  • Ability to work independently or with guidance
  • Ability to keep a sense of humor
