The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to
serve as our MTSS Program Manager. This position plays a crucial
role in overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation
of our Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework, as well as
coordinating intervention programs to support student success. The
ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of educational
interventions, data-driven decision-making, and collaborative
leadership.
The MTSS Program Manager will provide instructional leadership in
curriculum, assessment, and professional development for all K-12
schools in North Carolina. The MTSS Program Manager will report
directly to the Managing Director of Student Support Services, and
they will drive achievement for students requiring interventions
through the MTSS process. The MTSS Program Manager will work in
collaboration with schools and Regional Support Team colleagues to
design and implement high-quality Reading, Math, Behavioral, and
Social Emotional Learning (SEL) interventions in schools across
KIPP NC. Finally, the MTSS Program Manager will serve as KIPP NC's
project manager for the AP Intervention partnership with the Hill
Learning Center to support KIPP NC's reading interventionists and
help ensure implementation fidelity and student success.

Key Responsibilities
MTSS Framework Development and Implementation:
- Lead the development and refinement of our MTSS framework in
collaboration with school leadership, teachers, and support
staff.
- Ensure alignment of MTSS practices with district and state
standards, as well as research-based best practices in
education.
- Establish procedures for universal screening, progress
monitoring, and data analysis to identify students in need of
additional support.
- Provide training and support to educators on MTSS principles,
including tiered interventions and data-driven decision-making.
Intervention Program Coordination:
- Oversee the coordination and delivery of intervention programs
(95 RAP, I-Ready, etc.) across all tiers of support, including
academic, behavioral, and social-emotional interventions.
- Collaborate with school leaders, school-based interventionists,
teachers, and support staff to develop intervention plans tailored
to meet the needs of individual students.
- Monitor the implementation of interventions and provide ongoing
support and feedback to intervention teams.
- Ensure that intervention programs are evidence-based and
aligned with the goals of the MTSS framework.
- Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison between our
intervention partners (I-Ready, 95 RAP) and our Teaching and
Learning team to coordinate professional development, monitor
program implementation, provide feedback, and celebrate growth.
Data Analysis and Evaluation:
- Collect and analyze data related to student outcomes,
intervention effectiveness, and program fidelity.
- Use data to identify trends, make informed decisions, and drive
continuous improvement efforts within the MTSS framework.
- Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and
recommendations to school leadership, staff, and stakeholders.
Collaborative Leadership and Professional Development:
- Foster a culture of collaboration and shared responsibility
among educators and staff for the success of all students.
- Facilitate regular meetings and professional development
opportunities for MTSS teams and school-based
interventionists.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and support to intervention teams
to build their capacity to implement effective
interventions.

Qualifications:
Qualifications
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, counseling, or
related field (Master's degree preferred).
- 5 or more years of experience as an exemplary teacher/leader
with strong student achievement results.
- Previous experience in a leadership role within a school or
district, preferably with a focus on MTSS and intervention
programs.
- In-depth knowledge of MTSS frameworks, including tiered
interventions, progress monitoring, and data analysis.
- Experience coordinating and implementing intervention programs
to support student academic, behavioral, and social-emotional
needs.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in using data to
inform decision-making and drive improvement efforts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the
ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to
motivate and inspire others to achieve common goals.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in

Knowledge/Skills:

- Exemplary instructional coaching and adult management
experience in a high performing school serving a similar student
population to KIPP North Carolina
- Strong command of the essentials of the Science of
Reading
- An understanding of the necessary components of a solid
literacy program (95 RAP training and experience is a
plus)
- An understanding of the specific, unique characteristics of
public charter schools, NC-specific knowledge a plus
- Outstanding leadership and management skills, particularly as
it relates to building/supporting teams, working through others,
promoting collaboration, managing conflict, goal setting, and
holding people accountable
- Outstanding problem solving abilities with the ability to think
flexibly and collaboratively about complex instructional
programming
- Strong data analysis skills with the ability to use data from
assessment, implementation and progress monitoring to drive
decisions, inform instruction and support student success.
- The flexibility needed to accommodate the breadth and depth of
responsibilities and priorities
- A growth mindset focused on building knowledge and continuously
learning and improving knowledge and skills.
- Outstanding written, speaking, and organizational skills
including excellence in backwards planning long-term goals and
accountability and progress monitoring systems
Additional Information
Other Expectations:
- Understanding of and willingness to work in both rural and
urban communities, including exhibiting resourcefulness and
willingness to travel up to five hours within North Carolina
multiple days per week based on schools' needs
- Must live in North Carolina; Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, ideal,
given the area's equal distance from our schools in Charlotte,
Gaston (ENC), and Halifax
