Job Title: Tactical Medical Training assistant instructor

Based at: NC

Job Summary: Sanford Federal is looking for a Tactical Medical Training assistant instructor who will familiarize students with techniques in rendering first aid in the event of an injury to themselves or others. And ensure that students possess the skills necessary to react to a casualty-producing event and provide medical assistance until the arrival of First Responders. FACT medical training utilizes the MARCH method for casualty assessment.
Requirements: The Candidate must meet the following requirements
Be MARCH qualified.
Have two (2) years of practical or instructional experience in Tactical Medical Training.
Be capable of delivering professional and effective instruction in Tactical Medical Training
Duties: The goal of this subject area is to give the students the skills to react to a casualty-producing event and provide medical assistance until the arrival of First Responders. Students will be exposed to the three types of bleeding, as well as discuss methods for addressing massive hemorrhaging to the extremities of a casualty. Students will be exposed to various occlusive dressings that are currently commercially available, as well as be taught how to create them if needed. Students will learn how to secure an impaled object, dress an evisceration, and treat eye injuries. Students will gain an understanding on how to identify and manage hypothermia in order to offer casualties the best chance at surviving their injuries. At the completion of training, each student shall successfully demonstrate the ability to:
1. Identify how to execute Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC).
2. Identify key anatomical landmarks associated with massive hemorrhage as they relate to initial hemorrhage control.
3. Define key concepts in the identification and control of life-threatening hemorrhage.
4. Apply a commercial and improvised tourniquet on a simulated casualty.
5. Employ re-assessment techniques following successful control of massive hemorrhage.
6. Use hemostatic agents.
7. Describe the normal anatomic alignment of the upper airway.
8. Identify injuries and conditions that may threaten the airway patency of the trauma casualty.
9. Utilize jaw thrust maneuvers used to manually open the airway of a trauma casualty.
10.Describe the indications for the use of a nasopharyngeal airway.
11.Properly insert a nasopharyngeal airway.
12.Identify two causes of progressive respiratory distress in the trauma casualty.
13.Employ proper management of traumatic respiratory distress.
14.Manage soft tissue and musculoskeletal injuries.
15.Identify sources of heat loss in the trauma casualty.
16.Describe steps to prevent hypothermia in the care of the trauma casualty.
17.Identify how to document pertinent information and vital signs.
18.Document pertinent information and vital signs.
19.Apply a tourniquet successfully within 30 seconds
