Summary: The Health and Safety Coordinator helps with the
development, implementation, monitoring, training, and managing
safety programs, policies, and procedures. Identifies safety
training needs and coordinates with the Health and Safety Manager
to develop safety and job training programs. Evaluates program
effectiveness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Safety and job training as required by MTB and OSHA
Execute safety plans in the workplace
Sustain best practices and safety policies
Continuous improvement in safety and job training
Helping injured teammates with their care
Coordinating with insurance provider and care teams
Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and
adherence to the law
Assist in investigating accidents
Create reports on health, safety awareness and stats related to
safety
Coaching and supporting of leaders
Contribute towards the achievement of company's strategic and
operational objectives
Administer consistently and fairly Mickey Truck Bodies policies and
procedures
Deliver internal and external customer service excellence
Presents training and development of programs for employees
Evaluates program effectiveness
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (business, safety)
Min of 3 years of Health and Safety background
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including
ability to effectively communicate with internal and external
customers
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while
maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer
service
Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to
completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed
routines, and standard accepted practices
Computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel and Outlook)
Must be flexible with the ability to pivot quickly
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,
operations manual, and written directions.
Ability to write reports
Spanish and English bilingual preferred
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to communicate clearly
Requires ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
Requires ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, crawl,
and kneel
Specific vision ability required includes close, distance, color,
and peripheral vision with depth perception and ability to adjust
focus.
Work Environment:
Manufacturing work environment that has frequent exposure to fumes
or airborne particles, noise intensity level, proximity to moving
mechanical parts and exposure to weather.
