Provides patient care duties for patients of all ages, infants through adults under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Serves as a Surgical Technologist, Birthing Center tech and Unit Secretary. Provides care preoperatively, perioperatively, and postoperatively within scope of practice and hospital policy and procedures. Also functions as a surgical assistant and/or assistant to the circulating nurse. Performs a variety of organizational, administrative, and communication functions.

*Responsibilities*
* Assist in surgical procedures by preparing and maintaining the sterile field.
* Ensure all surgical instruments and supplies are available and functioning properly.
* Monitor patient vitals and provide critical care support during surgeries.
* Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow and patient safety.
* Document surgical procedures and maintain accurate medical records using EHR systems.
* Adhere to hospital protocols and emergency procedures in high-pressure situations.

*Qualifications*
* Graduate of accredited program of Surgical Technology, military experience, or at least 2 years of clinical surgical technology experience with no degree.
* BCLS Certification from the American Heart Association. If the BCLS is not from the American Heart Association (AHA), then AHA certification is due within three months of employment date.
* No previous experience required. Given training and on-the-job experience incumbent should be proficient in basic aspects of the job within three months of employment date.
