Registered Nurse (RN) | Rehab Location: Salem, VA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,876 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Rehab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Valid state Nursing License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Med/Surg or PCU experience Description: General comments about the facility indicate a robust inpatient rehab unit. The unit has a total of 35 beds with patient ratios typically ranging from 5 to 7 patients per nurse. The staffing model includes unit secretaries and techs based on census, usually allowing for 2 to 4 techs available for support. Essential equipment includes vital signs machines, IV pumps, SCDs, and bladder scanners. Documentation is done through a Meditech system. Scheduling requirements include 12-hour shifts with every other weekend commitment. Floating to other medical-surgical departments may be required. While rehab experience is preferred, it is not mandatory. Advanced skills are not necessary for this position. Common procedures performed on the unit include medication administration, IV management, trach care, tube feeding, Foley catheters, and blood administration. The dress code consists of navy blue or white solid scrubs. Employees on this unit have the opportunity to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. This team includes nursing staff, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, physiatrists, physician assistants, and neuropsychologists.
