This role involves providing expert nursing care on the Neuro Progressive Post Surgical Unit, supporting patients recovering from neurological conditions and surgeries. Position Details: Shift: PM Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed Weekend Hours: 72 hours over 6 weeks Call: None required Unit: 20-bed Neuro Progressive Post Surgical Unit Patient Ratio: 5:1 EHR System: Cerner Key Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality nursing care to adults and geriatric patients with neurological diagnoses such as stroke, traumatic brain injury (TBI), brain cancer, craniotomy, and spine/neck surgery Utilize specialized equipment including Masimo vital signs monitors and Zoll devices Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care Maintain proficiency in neuro assessment tools such as NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Uphold facility policies on attire and professionalism Qualifications / Desired Experience: Current RN license with 2 years nursing experience Neuro or stepdown clinical experience required Current ACLS and BLS certifications Strong teamwork skills and the ability to provide leadership when needed Personable, approachable, and able to bring a positive, engaging attitude to the unit Additional Information: Orientation is held twice monthly at the onsite hospital, a leading facility with specialty centers including Brain, Cancer, Heart, Lung, Orthopedics, and Womens Health services. This unit operates under the supervision of a dedicated nurse manager and supports complex neurological cases in a progressive care setting. This position is ideal for nurses seeking a dynamic contract role within a specialized neurological care environment.
