Travel Nursing Job Details - Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Neuro PCU / Progressive Care Unit (Stepdown) - Location: Roanoke, VA 24014 (Virginia travel nursing job) - Start Date: 03/23/2026 - End Date: 06/22/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - Hours per Week: 36 - Shift: Day shift, 12-hour days (06:45–19:15); 3x12s - Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling block - Holiday Requirement: 1 holiday per 13-week contract - Unit Snapshot: Neuro PCU / Stepdown unit with epilepsy monitoring support as assigned - Typical Ratios: 1:4 (must be comfortable up to 1:5 as needed) - Charting System: Epic (experience required) - Floating: May float to units within your clinical skillset - Estimated Weekly Pay Range: $1,800–$1,890/week Registered Nurse (RN) Requirements - Experience: Recent acute care RN experience in PCU/IMC/Stepdown preferred (neuro experience a plus) - License: Active RN license (Virginia or compact/multistate) - Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (required) - EMR: Epic experience required - Clinical Skills: - Telemetry monitoring, rhythm interpretation, and dysrhythmia recognition/response - Rapid Response/Code Team participation and escalation of care - IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration - Central line/PICC/peripheral line care and infection prevention - Medication administration; cardiac drips (no titration) - Respiratory support (nasal cannula, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway support as ordered) - Isolation precautions and PPE compliance Neuro PCU / Stepdown RN Responsibilities - Provide direct bedside nursing care for adult Neuro PCU patients, including post-neurosurgical recovery, stroke care, seizure/epilepsy monitoring support, and neuro-specific conditions - Perform comprehensive assessments, develop and implement patient-centered care plans, and document accurately in Epic - Monitor telemetry, recognize changes in patient condition, and intervene/escalate appropriately to support patient safety - Administer medications and ordered infusions, including non-titrating cardiac drips, per policy and provider orders - Manage vascular access devices (PIV/PICC/central lines) and administer blood products per facility guidelines - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (IV team, PT, RT, pharmacy, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, and more) to optimize outcomes - Float to appropriate units within scope and competency while maintaining quality standards Apply now to join our healthcare team and secure your next Travel Neuro PCU/Stepdown RN assignment in Roanoke, VA 24014.
