ICU/Critical Care RN in Cornelius, North Carolina, 28031! Job
Title: RN - ICU Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Intensive
Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36
Experience: Minimum 2 years ICU RN experience preferred License: RN
License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: General ICU
skillset including experience with critical care infusions,
insulin, vasopressors, sedation management, invasive line
management (ART/CVP), cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes,
ventilator management, blood products, and wound care/dressing
changes. Comfortable floating within the region and scope of
practice as needed. Description: We are seeking a registered nurse
for our intensive care unit. The unit consists of 33 beds and
handles a variety of diagnoses, excluding cardiac surgical cases.
Common patient diagnoses include sepsis, ARDS, GI bleeds, DKA,
cardiac arrest, withdrawal, and renal failure. Patient ratios are
typically 1:1-2 for RN and 1:10 for CNA. Support within the
department includes a charge nurse available 24/7, as well as the
support of hospitalists and intensivists. The electronic medical
record system used is EPIC. Equipment includes telemetry monitors,
bladder scanners, and virtual rounding carts. Floating may be
required to various facilities within the region as needed.
Travelers will be paid for the time spent traveling between
facilities when floating mid-shift. Scheduling follows a
standardized resource team model with weekend rotations every other
weekend. Expectations include working 75% of holidays, with the
ability to approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays. Scrub
