Join a dedicated team delivering compassionate perinatal and obstetric nursing care in the scenic foothills of North Carolina./n /n/nJob Details/n /n - Position: Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) / Labor & Delivery Travel Nurse/n - Location: Hickory, NC 28602 (Catawba County) — North Carolina nursing jobs / Hickory healthcare jobs/n - Unit: Birthing Center (18 beds) — obstetrics, maternal health, Mother/Baby, postpartum nursing/n - Assignment Length: 13 weeks (April 6, 2026 – July 6, 2026)/n - Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), weekdays with every other weekend required/n - Hours per Week: 36 (option to flex to a 4th shift if available)/n - Patient Ratio: 1:2/n - Orientation: 24 hours/n - Employment Type: Travel Contract — travel nursing, per diem and contract nursing opportunities/n /n/nJob Requirements / Qualifications/n /n - Minimum 2 years recent Labor & Delivery RN experience, including Mother/Baby care and postpartum nursing/n - Previous travel nursing experience preferred (travel L&D nurse)/n - Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or Compact RN license accepted/n - Required certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA), NRP, AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced/n - Proficient with electronic charting systems / EMR experience/n - Strong fetal monitoring and OB triage skills; experience with C-section circulating preferred/n - COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)/n /n/nKey Responsibilities/n /n - Provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to laboring mothers and newborns in a fast-paced birthing center/n - Perform fetal monitoring, recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns, and escalate concerns per protocol/n - Circulate for C-sections, assist in obstetrical procedures, and triage obstetrical patients/n - Deliver newborn care including initial assessment and support for neonatal resuscitation (NRP)/n - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams: IV therapy, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, and social services/n - Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR and participate in quality and safety initiatives/n - Work block scheduling and provide weekend coverage as needed to support unit needs/n /n/nWhy Join This Travel Nursing Assignment/n /n - Work in a supportive OB/L&D team focused on high-quality maternal and newborn outcomes/n - Experience Hickory, NC — affordable living, parks, local arts, and a welcoming community/n - Estimated Weekly Pay: $1680 - $1770/week.
