SUMMARYThermo Fisher Co-Op/Summer Internship Program offers students the opportunity to learn about the pharmaceutical industry from a hands-on perspective. You will be working closely with and learning from some of the brightest people in the Soft Gel Industry. Not only will interns learn about their day-to-day tasks through their specific work assignments, but they will interact and have exposure to our organizational leaders and their teams.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Candidate must be enrolled (not necessarily taking classes) in an accredited college/university during the Co-op/Intern. Pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's or Doctoral degree in Pharmacy, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related technical field. Only students who have successfully completed their freshman year or above will be considered. Availability to work full-time (40 hours/week) during the Summer Intern Session and NLT 16 hours per week for the Co-op session. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is strongly preferred. Demonstrated leadership and/or participation in campus programs and/or community service activities is desired. A high level of organization and the ability to handle multiple tasks. Be comfortable working independently, as well as on a team. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Power Point, and have strong oral and written communication skills. Hands-on skills and experience with lab equipment. Legal authorization to work in the United States and not require future sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H1-B status) now or in the future. Ability to provide their own transportation to the High Point, NC location. Ability to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment. Perform lab experiments in the formulation lab. Experiments may consist of caustic chemicals. Preparing and reviewing protocols, reports, SOP's etc and other documentation as required Active collaboration between technical support team, engineering and R&D groups to ensure successful new product introductions and technical transfer activities Writing, reviewing, approving of technical protocols; assuring that protocols are approved through proper channels Assuring that all test data is gathered and recorded in accordance with cGMP requirements Analyzing data to ascertain if it meets related protocol acceptance criteria; writing deviation reports as required upon failures to meet protocol acceptance criteria Writing risk assessments Adhering to all GMP and safety requirements, SOP's and Company policies and proceduresQUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
