Noregon develops and offers remote and in-shop diagnostic software, hardware, data analytics and diagnostic tool management to consumers within the heavy-duty trucking industry. Noregon is looking for Embedded Software Engineers that are ready to put their skills and expertise alongside the brightest minds to impact the industry that keeps us going! Embedded Software Engineers at Noregon design, develop, and deploy software solutions which build high-quality, innovative technologies across hardware and software platforms.This position is located in Greensboro, NC. We are offering our Embedded Software Engineers a $5,000 sign on bonus. Embedded Software Engineer Responsibilities:* Collaborates with Product Managers and customers to define requirements, create software estimates and determine schedules and milestones.* Routinely updates Stakeholders and Project Managers with status of software tasks.* Demonstrates technical proficiency when creating software requirements specifications, software design documentation and implementing code.* Leads and/or participates in requirements, design, code, and test plan reviews.* Provides input to Test Engineers to facilitate test plan development.* Mentors and provides guidance to junior Software Engineers about software process, best practices, technical issues and their resolution.* Accumulates and uses industry information to improve the quality of products and services.* Develops code, documentation, and specifications in accordance with Noregon Quality Assurance Plan.* Exhibits business acumen when interacting with individuals at all business levels in a variety of situations.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:* Experience with all phases of the SDLC.* Experience implementing embedded Linux on custom hardware platforms.* Knowledge of multi-threaded programming and associated constructs* Experience with Device Driver development.* Experience interfacing with low-level hardware and microcontrollers. NXP i.MX preferred.* Experience implementing TCP/IP, CAN, J1939, Bluetooth, or IoT/M2M communications.* Experience with C++, C#, .Net, SQL.* Deep understanding of object-oriented design concepts and design patterns.* Ability to complete task with a high level of autonomy.* Excellent oral and written communication skills.* Experience working with automotive protocols is a plus!Requirements:* Ability to work onsite in Greensboro, NC* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering* 5+ years as a Software or Firmware Engineer* Experience in Embedded Systems preferred* Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer preferred* U.S. citizenship requiredWorking with our team:* Noregon employees demonstrate tact, good judgement and great composure with everyone in our organization* Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills* A positive attitude to navigate with teams and all personalities* Exceptional problem-solving skillsWhy you want to work here:* We like to have fun and encourage a work-life balance!* Monthly employee events to recognize that we value you!
