Technical Writer
Colfax, NC
6 Months
Hybrid (3 days office/2 days from home)
Job Purpose: Provide an overview of the responsibilities of the job
by providing a summary of the most important aspects and duties of
the job (1-3 sentences).
The Technical Writer, Accounting must possess the ability to
communicate complex information clearly and concisely. This
position requires excellent interpersonal skills to work across
functions and elicit detailed information from subject matter
experts to facilitate documentation of key accounting processes.
The ideal candidate must have a working knowledge of accounting
processes, including accounts receivable, accounts payable and
close the books processes.

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities: List the 4-8 essential
functions of the job.
Responsibilities and Deliverables:
Create written operating procedures for key Client Accounting
processes, including but not limited to accounts receivable,
accounts payable and close the books.
Assesses the audience needs for whom the technical and procedural
documentation is intended; adjusts tone and technical terms used to
meet those needs and to ensure understanding.
Creates or works to create diagrams, charts, and other visual aids
to assist readers in understanding a process.
Work closely with the Client team to define documentation
requirements and produce internal docs.
Collaborate with others and coordinate on the delivery of shared
content.
Performs other duties as assigned by the team manager.
Be able to describe the specific topic, object, or concept;
understand the audience(s) terms of knowledge and background to
understand the materials; and provide a good description on the
subject its function, cause, and/or effect.
Make recommendations to CFO regarding process improvement
opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience Requirements: Provide hiring
requirements necessary to successfully perform this job; indicate
required and preferred levels for each category below.
Education
Bachelor's degree or higher
Degree in Accounting highly desired
CPA designation highly desired
Experience
5+ years of proven experience in writing technical documentation
and/or experience within Accounting functions
Understand and ability to explain complex concepts.
Strong research and analytical skills
Excellent technical writing skills
Excellent verbal communication skills
Ability to develop understand SOPs & Process Guidelines.
Excellent oral/written communications skills and interpersonal
skills.
Excellent organizational skills required.
Excellent time management skills required.
