Job Positions: Inventory Control Specialist I & II

Skill Level: 3, 4, 5, 6

Department: Inventory

Primary Purpose

To validate inventory by performing thorough cycle counts of the parts in the assigned area as well as doing thorough, full investigations of any issues that cause inventory to be skewed (resolving negative issues, verifying WIP, BOM verification and performing inventory adjustments). This goal will be accomplished by performing various functions of Inventory Tracking within the Manufacturing Plant. Employee will gain a complete understanding of the assigned area by learning the material from raw to finished goods. This position requires the retention of a lot of information and self-motivation to succeed. The support will be there, but independence is a must.

Level 3 Inventory Control Specialist I

Responsibilities include:

* Learn the product, the Part Numbers and how/where the parts are assembled. * Learn to use the QAD system to find the necessary menus needed for the position. * Learn the RF scan gun and all functions required for daily job duties. * Learn to perform full cycle counts. Know where WIP locations (2110, 2300, 2400, 1100, 6801) are located for assigned plant. * Understand the basics (bin checks, counts, production, scanning errors) of inventory investigations to find root causes. * Work with discrepancies/shortages/negatives. Understanding the causes and corrections. * Displays excellent retention of training. Takes good, thorough notes. * Shows basic understanding of BOMs and how to decipher the different levels of an item. * Shows signs of developing investigative skills on how to solve inventory issues. Be able to recognize scanning errors, overproduction and over-scanning. * Become involved in the Safety Suggestion Program. Two suggestions are the initial goal for the year for Level 3 and 4. * Excellent attendance. * Effectively communicating (verbally and email) any and all inventory issues with Leads and Supervision. * Demonstrating signs of independence and self-motivation. * Must display a positive attitude and show signs of building positive work relationships with coworkers and all other support groups.

Level 4 Inventory Control Specialist I

Responsibilities include:

* Must be performing all functions of Level 3 at a consistently high level. * Obtained a good base knowledge of assigned areas product from raw to finished parts. * Can recognize parts and be able to recite the Part Numbers from memory. * Gained knowledge of the work stations within assigned department and knows the WIP locations throughout the department. * Proficient in navigating and using QAD and RF scanners. * Gaining better understanding of BOMs. * Able to correctly enter substitutions into the system with minimal errors. * Able to follow the system entries and then verify the materials left in WIP. * Showing the ability to perform the steps required to do investigations into inventory discrepancies (location checks, receipt PO verifications, transaction history look ups for odd counts or adjustments, etc.). * Able to do full cycle counts and enter results that are within tolerance (under $400.00) with minimal errors. * Able to understand the flow of transactions from raw to sub finished goods and then to parent item. Can decipher when carton labels and skid labels are processed and how it affects inventory. * Helping to maintain organization of the inventory in the plant by reporting any procedural issues as well as housekeeping problems to the Leads, Material Handlers and Supervision. * Ability to run reports for tracking inventory issues including negative report, cycle count reports and all bin location reports to help resolve inventory issues. * Ability to provide coverage in other areas due to absenteeism. * Maintaining excellent attendance. * Reporting all safety violations to supervision, following all safety work rules and maintaining participation in the Safety Suggestion Program.

Level 5 Inventory Control Specialist I

Responsibilities include:

* Must be performing all functions of Levels 3 & 4 at a consistently high level. * Shown ability to do full investigations and find root causes to inventory variances. * Shown the ability to keep top items counted and verified from month to month and kept items in WIP validated. * Displaying excellent detective skills with attention to details. * Understand the Component Variance report (16.3.9) to check for orders that did not ship correctly as well as 34.21.2.24.6 for Account 6700 (Method Change Variance). * Clearing any zero balances in the system by running the required reports and making the needed corrections * Fully understands the BOMs and can determine when one is incorrect. Follows steps to then correct the BOM. * Has shown the ability to effectively use Outlook, MS Word and navigate basic spreadsheets. * Has proven to work as a team and gets along well with all coworkers and support groups. * Excellent attitude about the job and coworkers. Has shown the ability to deal with the frustrations of the positon and not get discouraged. * Correctly handle all transfers and status changes of inventory. * Be able to input all paperwork from production/substitution areas. * Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in dealing with all levels of personnel from production areas to Management. * Monitor inventory levels and notify Supervisor and Production Control of any shortages that may occur. * Has shown ability to monitor the negative sheet for assigned area and investigate/correct the issues.

Level 6 Inventory Control Specialist II

Responsibilities include:

* Must be performing all functions of Levels 3, 4 & 5 at a consistently high level. * Demonstrates full knowledge of the system and understands the various transactions that affect inventory and knows how to track in the system. * Can investigate and correct any type of discrepancy (BOM, work order, shipping, receiving, scanning, cycle counting, substitution, etc.) with full competency. * Interacts with all levels of coworkers (Floor Personnel, Leads, Supervision, Management) in a professional manner and has the respect of all. * Has demonstrated a high level of independence and shown excellent decision making skills. * Ability to function in yearly inventories by providing preparation steps, handling control sheets and helping resolve problems. * Training of others as necessary or when requested. (This also includes cross training in other areas.) * Proven record of excellent attendance. * Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Lead/Supervisor/Management. * Full understanding of Trilennium and Astragal product Lines and inventory procedures within the Lower Plant. * Cross train on inventory functions within the Sill plant as well as all procedures. * Assist with Development of improved standards for both facilities. * Must have excellent communication and leadership skills.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:

Must have a complete knowledge of entire product line of materials and inventory functions.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

Must have the ability to effectively communicate orally and written. Approximately 12 months of work experience is required to become skilled in all phases of the job. Must be capable of reading a Tape Measure and a Spec Sheet.

INITIATIVE & INGENUITY:

Work priorities are determined by Supervisors instructions and daily production. One must develop the knowledge to work independently while keeping in mind the effects their position has on everyday operations. Individual must be self-motivated working with limited supervision while following verbal and written instructions.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Under specific direction of the Manufacturing Supervisor, Inventory Manager, and Plant Manager where goals and objectives are established. Coordinate work with others as well as Lead people and Supervisors. Report any material deficiencies. Advice Leads/Supervisor of unusual circumstances as needed.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR MATERIAL/PRODUCT:

Carelessness in transporting materials and finished product could result in damage or loss, which could be expensive. Errors involving inventory, down time at assembly lines, or missed shipments will become apparent in daily processing.

CONTACT WITH OTHERS:

Regular contact with other Employees, Lead people and Staff members where improper handling may affect results. Clear, concise, cordial communications skills are important.

PHYSICAL EFFORT:

Flow of work and character of duties involve performing some repetitive hand, wrist, and arm motions. Normal and corrected hearing and vision are necessary. Walking, bending, twisting, stooping is involved. Ability to lift max of 35lbs. is required. You must seek assistance if lifting anything heavier than 35lbs. is necessary. Must have good hand eye coordination and be mechanically adaptable to using forklift if necessary/required.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR EQUIPMENT:

Must be responsible for any company equipment assigned or used.

WORKING CONDITIONS/HAZARDS:

Exposed to normal factory environment (wood dust and aluminum) with no factors or hazards present to a disagreeable extent. Must be able to withstand heat up to 95 degrees. Carelessness could result in falls, back strain, cuts, crushed hand or foot. Caution is required while operating forklift if required.

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Must adhere to all safety rules and regulations as specified in the Enduras Safety Manual. This responsibility necessitates wearing of proper Personal Protective Equipment (i.e., Safety Glasses & Ear Plugs). Position could be involved in moves of heavy and awkward material in various work areas and storage of materials in high racking, which could result in serious injury to others if not handled properly.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

This job includes other duties and responsibilities assigned by Management. Regular attendance is an essential job function.
