DUTIES:
Lead technical/scientific project activities applying expertise and
experience in the development of appropriate execution strategies
and technical solutions to meet client expectations.
Lead or participate in technical discussions with client.
Engage in the management of clients, processes and equipment design
for clinical, scale up and registration batches including tech
transfer of projects to and from clients.
Lead the design and evaluation of formulations and manufacturing
processes and support problem solving as necessary.
Manage resources in the function to achieve project and team
objectives and coach people in their work group in areas such as
the drug development process and DDMT systems.
Liaise with Project Management, Facility/Equipment Schedulers,
Materials Management, Analytical Development and other functional
areas to meet project and team objectives.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical Science,
Nanoscience, Chemistry, or related field of study, plus 1 year of
experience in drug development, or related experience. Employer
also accepts a Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Science,
Nanoscience, Chemistry, or related field of study, and no
experience. Employer will accept any suitable combination of
education, experience or training. Experience may be gained
concurrently through graduate level course work and/or
internships.
Must have experience or knowledge of:
Design, evaluation, and development of formulations and
manufacturing processes for solid, semi-solid, or liquid dosage
forms of new formulations and scale-up procedures of solid,
semi-solid, or liquid dosage forms at the pre-clinical, clinical,
and post marketing stages of drug development for client and POC
projects;
Problem solving for formulations, equipment, and processes;
Writing and executing protocols and development reports for
feasibility work, manufacturing batch records, and clinical trial
materials in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices
and company standards; and
Expertise with HPLC, GC/GCMS, LC-MS, Particle size analyzer,
Dissolution testing (APP1- APP4), FTIR, ID by UV-VIS, DLS,
Colorimeter, Rheometer/viscometer, Karl-fisher/Titration.
