Merchandise Specialist, Product Planning & Purchasing Analyst plays
a crucial role in optimizing product selection and inventory
management to meet customer demand effectively. This position
involves analyzing market trends and sales data to inform
purchasing decisions, ensuring that the right products are
available at the right time. The specialist will collaborate with
various teams, including marketing and sales, to develop strategies
that enhance product visibility and profitability. Additionally,
the role requires continuous monitoring of inventory levels and
supplier performance to maintain efficient supply chain operations.
Ultimately, the goal is to drive sales growth and improve customer
satisfaction through strategic product planning and purchasing
decisions.Job Summary:We are seeking a highly organized and
detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Merchandise
Specialist / Product Administrator. This hybrid role will be
responsible for end-to-end merchandise planning, product
administration, production scheduling, procurement, and data
analysis to support optimized inventory levels, timely product
availability, and alignment with sales objectives.Minimum
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in merchandising, product admin,
production planning, or procurement.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel, ERP systems
(e.g., SAP, NetSuite), and BI tools.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to multitask and work cross-functionally in a
fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive, problem-solving
mindset.Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the retail, apparel, or consumer goods
industry.
- Knowledge of PLM systems and demand forecasting tools.
- Background in inventory optimization and lean supply chain
practices.Responsibilities / Merchandising & Product Administration
- Manage product life cycle from concept to end-of-life across
categories.
- Assist with SKU setup, item master maintenance, and database
accuracy.
- Coordinate with design, marketing, and sales teams to ensure
product alignment with market demand.
- Conduct regular competitor and market trend analysis to inform
merchandising decisions.
- Track and analyze product performance and recommend
adjustments.Production Planning
- Develop and maintain production schedules based on demand
forecasts and inventory levels.
- Collaborate with manufacturers, vendors, contract manufacturers
and internal teams to ensure timely production and delivery.
- Monitor and report on production progress, flagging any delays
or issues.
- Optimize capacity planning and inventory turns to minimize
stock-outs or overstock.Purchasing & Procurement
- Place purchase orders and track deliveries, ensuring alignment
with budget and timelines.
- Assist in sourcing materials or finished goods as needed,
negotiating best pricing and lead times.
- Maintain supplier relationships and evaluate vendor performance
regularly.
- Ensure procurement complies with company policies and quality
standards.Data Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze sales trends, inventory turnover, and purchasing data
to inform planning.
- Develop dashboards and reports for senior management to support
strategic decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve margins, and
enhance supply chain efficiency.
- Forecast demand in collaboration with sales and finance

interpreting sales data and market trends, allowing the specialist
to make informed purchasing decisions. Proficiency in data analysis
tools enables the candidate to efficiently assess inventory levels
and supplier performance. Strong communication skills are vital for
